Emporio Armani's Fall/Winter 2018-19 collection was unveiled in Milan on January 13th. This season, the collection focused on black and gloss. The collection skillfully utilized new fabrics that evolve with the reflection of light, creating the brand's signature urban masculine image.
The first look of the season was from the EA7 winter sports line. Overalls and mountain parkas, featuring a graphic treatment of the sheen of high-density nylon and a gradation of glen check, along with accessories such as gloves, goggles, and helmets, all featured a black base, marking a response to athleisure.
A variety of textures, including long coats made of faux fur, bomber jackets made of curly sheepskin, washed patent leather, velour with a checkered effect, and double-breasted suits made of elegant corduroy, were expressed in a black palette.
Clouds, lightning, flowers, and butterfly motifs are depicted in jacquard, embroidery, and stitching. The Asian metaphors that have been featured in recent seasons are applied to lustrous velvets and knitwear, suggesting mature styling with oversized backpacks, garment bags, and shark-soled work boots.
Deep blue velvet, which appears frequently this time around along with black, is paired with gold and bronze metallic zippers and stitching. The silhouette, which flows from sharp shoulders to gently shaped waists and wide thighs to cropped lengths, exudes the pride of Milanese style.
