Lemon Life, headed by art director Tetsuya Chihara, has launched its third term of the "Lemon Life Design School." Featuring special lecturers, the school will begin a total of 16 lectures on January 13th at Material Kyoto in Kyoto.

Lemon Life Design School is a design school headed by Tetsuya Chihara, who has worked on a wide range of designs, including CD jackets, magazines, films, and advertisements. Featuring leading creators from a variety of genres as guest lecturers, the school aims to foster the ability to solve real social issues through design, based on the concept of "ultra-practical" and "combining the creative talents of Kyoto and Tokyo." Applications are open to anyone, regardless of age or occupation, from working adults to students. The third phase will feature open lectures and networking events every Saturday from January to June, featuring guest lecturers including photographer Leslie Kee, Soen editor-in-chief Kojima Mikinori, artist Ed Tsuwaki, JTQ representative and space composer Tanigawa Junji, illustrator Tanaka Misaki, Akamatsu Yosekozou (title lettering and film title designer), artist Kushino Shinya, architect and Suppose Design Office representative Tanijiri Makoto, video director Tamukai Jun, artist and art director Hiro Sugiyama, Steady Study Inc. representative Yoshida Mizuyo, songwriter Mizuno Yoshiki & QREATOR AGENT Inc. representative Sato Shogo, art director and graphic designer Sekido Kimiko, and Smiles Inc. representative Toyama Masamichi. Material Kyoto will be the main venue, with subsequent events taking place at Jimukino-Ueda Bldg, smart center Kyoto, the garden x.S, and Ryokan Ginkaku.
The three lectures to be held in May will be workshops led by Chihara Tetsuya, in which participants will design exterior wrapping graphics for the micro compact car "smart" under Chihara's direction, with the winning design being implemented on the smart and racing through the streets of Kyoto.
The course fee is 150,000 yen including tax. Participants and students in the first and second sessions will pay 100,000 yen including tax. Applications are being accepted on the official website (http://lemonlife.jp/juku/) until 23:59 on January 11th.
