Risaku Suzuki began his creative work through photography after graduating from the Graduate School of Tokyo College of Photography in 1987. In 1998, he published his first photo book, "KUMANO," featuring his hometown of Kumano, and in 2000 won the 25th Kimura Ihei Photography Award for "PILES OF TIME." Since 2006, he has taught at the Department of Inter-Media Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. His works are held in the collections of institutions including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the National Museum of Modern Art, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.

The exhibition focuses on Suzuki Risaku's collection "Water Mirror," published last year in collaboration with the Fine Art Photography Association of Japan, and attempts to reveal how the vivid colors of the original prints were reproduced through printing. The collection includes 46 works from his "Water Mirror" series, which focuses on water surfaces and follows on from his life's work, Kumano, as well as works from Mont Sainte-Victoire in southern France, Cézanne's studio, cherry blossoms, and snow.

A talk event will also be held at 5:00 PM on January 27th featuring Suzuki Risaku and Yoshihisa Tanaka, who designed the collection.
