[Music Journey—How to Use Spotify—Vol. 4] This time, I'd like to talk about how to discover new music on Spotify.
Spotify has a powerful "personalization" feature that analyzes your listening history and tastes and recommends music tailored to you from its vast database. You can find an almost infinite amount of music that matches your tastes, both famous and unknown. Its accuracy is so impressive that many users are even impressed.
This time, I'll introduce playlists and features that will help you discover music and artists that suit your tastes.
1.  Discover Weekly
This playlist is automatically generated based on the songs you listen to regularly and the songs listened to by other users with similar musical tastes. It collects 30 songs that you may not have heard before on Spotify but are likely to like. It is delivered to you every Monday morning. The more you listen to music on Spotify, the more it learns and the more accurate its recommendations become. (Available in Japan from May 21, 2018)
2. Release Radar
This playlist notifies you of new releases from your favorite artists and artists you might like every Friday. If you follow your favorite artists, you'll be able to keep up with their new releases with this playlist.
3. Daily Mix
This feature automatically categorizes your favorite music into up to six categories and plays music based on those tastes, just like a radio. It plays a nice balance of your favorite songs and unfamiliar tracks, so I highly recommend it.
4. Related Artists
This isn't personalization, but Spotify's related artists are incredibly accurate. If you find an artist you like, explore the related artists. This way, you'll discover an endless number of artists you'll like.
5. My Summer Rewind
This playlist is a collection of your most-played summer favorites since signing up for Spotify. Like Discover Weekly, this playlist is created based on your personal listening habits, instantly bringing back memories of times spent in the sun and reconnecting with the songs that made your summer so exciting.*Spotify users who signed up for Spotify by June 2017 can access "My Summer Rewind" from the home screen of the Spotify app for iOS or Android, or by visiting Spotify.com/rewind.

So, this article has introduced ways to use Spotify to discover new music that suits your tastes. The more you use Spotify, the more accurate its recommendations become. Why not take advantage of these features and find your own favorite music? You're sure to encounter music that will move your heart.
