BABBI, an Italian sweets brand known for its wafer chocolates, is making its Japanese debut with a new type of gelato called "Soft Gelato." It will be available at the "Cool and Fashionable Sweets" event at Isetan Shinjuku, held from July 3rd to 8th. It features a soft texture different from both soft serve ice cream and gelato. The gelato mix is made by Italian artisans and then imported directly from Italy, then brewed in-store. It comes in three flavors: pistachio, vanilla, and mix. A single cone costs 525 yen. Following the event at Isetan Shinjuku, the soft gelato will be available at Okayama Tenmaya from July 10th to 16th and at Collette Izutsuya (Fukuoka) from July 17th to 23rd. Founded in Italy in 1952, BABBI was founded in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy as a gelato cone factory. The company is also known for spreading Italian gelato around the world. While developing wafers and cones to go with gelato, they created chocolate wafers such as "Viennezi" and "Waffelini," which have become synonymous with the brand. Celebrating their 60th anniversary, they resumed business in Japan in December last year. This Valentine's Day, they released a product in collaboration with "ANTEPRIMA."
