Spotify offers many tasteful playlists selected by music curators who are extremely knowledgeable about music. What's more, these playlists aren't just one-time purchases; they're constantly updated, so you'll never get bored of listening to them.

This playlist, updated every Wednesday by Spotify Japan, brings together the best new releases from Japan and abroad.



I actually edit this playlist. It's an official collaboration between music media Spincoaster and Spotify. Every Monday, Spincoaster members select 40 of the most recently released new releases from Japan and overseas that caught their attention.

2. Chart Playlist

Chart playlists are useful when you want to keep up with the latest music trends, like "What music are people listening to right now?" or "What's trending on social media?" Charts are available not only for Japan, but also globally and by country.

Top 50 (Japan)

The "Viral Chart" is a collection of songs that are trending on social media. Unexpected or older songs may suddenly appear on the charts, making it fun to check. This chart is also updated daily.

 

3. Situational Playlists

Playlists tailored to the time of day, the situation, and the mood. There are playlists for a wide variety of situations, so you'll never have trouble choosing background music.



As the title suggests, this playlist features music designed to help you fall asleep. Sleep-inducing playlists are apparently popular both in Japan and overseas.

This playlist will lift your spirits. Recommended for starting your day or commuting to work or school.

A playlist that'll make your drive more enjoyable. If you're driving with friends and can't decide what to play, just put on this playlist.

This playlist features Christmas songs perfect for the current season.

Of course, there are also playlists featuring only Japanese artists. There are a variety of types, including genres and new artists.
