Maison Margiela's Replica fragrance line introduces three new scents inspired by forbidden love and rock festivals

Dec 11, 2017

Three new scents have been added to Maison Margiela's "REPLICA" fragrance series. Launched in 2012, "REPLICA" is inspired by the "REPLICA Collection," a capsule collection of iconic garments from various eras. Eight fragrances have been released to date, each uniquely designed to evoke images, impressions, and the subconscious. The new releases include two eau de toilette and one eau de parfum. "SAILING DAY" (100ml/¥12,000) is a fresh and vibrant eau de toilette that evokes the invigorating feeling of being enveloped by the sky and sea. It begins with invigorating notes of aquatic and juniper, then blends gorgeous rose and iris with spicy coriander, leading to a finish of red seaweed and amberwood, evoking the scent of the sea. "MUSIC FESTIVAL" (100ml/12,000 yen), inspired by the exhilarating feeling of listening to rock music, is an eau de toilette that offers a new interpretation of patchouli, a symbol of woody fragrances. Opening with a blend of violet leaf and weed and a hint of sweet red apple, the scent is complemented by smoky Balkan tobacco and incense, before soothing notes of deep leather, cedarwood, and cypress. "WICKED LOVE" (100ml/18,000 yen) is an eau de parfum that offers a modern reinterpretation of the rose scent, expressing the dangerous and thrilling tale of forbidden love. Spicy and stimulating green pepper and basil herald the beginning of love, while Egyptian jasmine and centifolia rose awaken a sensual, joyful heartbeat. The sweet scent of powerful cedarwood, vetiver and white musk concludes the passionate love.

All products will be on sale from December 5th at Maison Margiela stores nationwide and at MM6 Maison Margiela stores.
