Hender Scheme launches new shoe collection "typical color exception" for Spring/Summer 2018

Dec 16, 2017

Hender Scheme has announced its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, "BLANK." In addition to its seasonal collections and the "manual industrial processes" (commonly known as the homage line), which releases one model each season, the brand is also launching a new collection called "typical color exception." The seasonal collection features a wide range of new shoes with contemporary constructions, including dress shoes, loafers, sandals, and mules. The "UFO" (64,000 yen) is a particularly experimental shoe that expands the concept of leather shoe soles. Its unique construction involves extending the midsole gauge, known as the midsole, all the way around, with holes drilled through it to allow rubber cord to pass through, giving the midsole the role of wings. The design, featuring black calf leather and vibrant midsoles in yellow and red, is sure to be an eye-catching street style. The bag and accessory line includes a leather and nylon bag (22,000 yen) with adjustable handles for two-way use, a picnic bag (11,000 yen) that can be unfolded to become a picnic sheet, and a table game set reconstructed from leather (90,000 yen). A new khaki color has been added to the classic "pig shoulder" and "pig bag" bags. The homage line, which designs the manufacturing process and suggests the joy of developing a unique character through wearing in leather sneakers, introduces clog-type shoes (46,000 yen) made with an external squeegee technique that applies the Goodyear welted method. The squeegee stitching, which serves as an accent, is made with thread coated with pine resin to strengthen the tension. You can enjoy the unique atmosphere along with the texture of the vegetable-tanned leather.

The new collection, "typical color exception," was launched with the aim of bringing to light the memories and information that colors convey by incorporating typical color combinations into classic leather shoes, and breathing new life into the look of standard leather shoes. The first season's lineup includes basic loafers (54,000 yen) and lace-up shoes (53,000 yen), and in addition to vivid color combinations such as purple x yellow and blue x orange, it also offers a black x white monotone.

The new collection will be available from mid-December at the flagship store Sukima and in participating stores nationwide.
