To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the capsule toy "Koppu no Fuchico," an exhibition titled "Your Own Fuchico Exhibition" will be held at the Parco Museum in the Ikebukuro Parco Main Building from December 1st to 18th.
In July 2012, without any warning, "Koppu no Fuchico," the angel of the cup's edge, descended into this world, and within a week of its release, over 100,000 units were shipped, all of which sold out immediately. Additional production could not keep up, and the capsule toy became so popular across Japan that it was bought and sold at ultra-premium prices at auctions. The series has sold a total of 1,500 varieties and 20 million units in total.
Living up to the name of Fuchico, known as the original Instagrammable queen, this exhibition will display all of the more than 1,500 types of Fuchico that have appeared to date, as well as various "Instagrammable" features such as original drawings by Tanaka Katsuki that will be shown in Japan for the first time, a "Dream Kawaii Monument" that recreates an amusement park coffee cup in Fuchico size, and a "Fuchico Art" corner where you can take photos that appear to be stuck on the edge of a cup.
As a pre-release product, the latest in the numbered series, "Cup no Fuchico 6" (300 yen), will be released more than a year and a half after the previous installment. Furthermore, a book to commemorate Fuchico's 5th anniversary, "Koppu no Fuchico Complete Encyclopedia" (1,600 yen), will also be released. This book includes previously unspoken interviews with the production team and a collaboration with the popular manga "Utsunuke" by Keiichi Tanaka. Other limited edition items include the "5th Anniversary Fuchico" mini-capsule version (3 types, 500 yen each), a familiar feature of the anniversary series, and the "Dress-Up Fuchico" (6 types, 200 yen each), which can be enjoyed in 1,296 different styles by combining the face, bag, body, and feet, all of which will be released as limited edition items, all of which will convey gratitude for the past 5 years with a wealth of content.
