Photographer Mikiya Takimoto's first large-scale exhibition, "CROSSOVER," will be held at Laforet Museum Harajuku from February 23rd to March 14th, 2018.

Mikiya Takimoto has been active at the forefront of advertising photography, commercials, and film, captivating creators with his large-scale works. He began his career in 1998. In addition to his own creative work, he is active in a wide range of fields, including advertising photography, graphics, editorial work, commercial films, and film. His major works include the cover art for Mr.Children's CD albums "HOME" (2007) and "SUPERMARKET FANTASY" (2008), "Calorie Mate" (2014), which attracted attention for its collaboration between Hikari Mitsushima and Cheetah, "Suntory Tennensui" (2017), which is known for Hikaru Utada's first commercial appearance in six years, and the visuals for the NHK Taiga drama "Sanada Maru." His activities are diverse.

In addition to photography, Takimoto has also been involved in film photography since 2013, winning the Jury Prize at the 66th Cannes Film Festival for Like Son, Like Son (2013) and Best Cinematography at the 39th Japan Academy Awards for Our Little Sister (2015). Takimoto's work leaves a strong impression on viewers with its graphic composition.

The venue is surrounded by pure white walls and is designed like a cross-shaped maze, exhibiting around 400 works that cross over the four genres of artwork, advertising, commercials, and film. There is also a space like a cinema, and a private room where a commercial for Yamato House starring actress Eri Fukatsu and Lily Franky is screened, allowing visitors to take their time to appreciate the works.


In addition, from 7pm to 8pm on March 10th, Takimoto will act as the host for a gallery tour where he will explain the stories and anecdotes surrounding the exhibited works. A collection of works to be published in conjunction with the exhibition is also on sale now.
