LEGO® World Heritage Exhibition Now Open in Ueno After World Tour

"PIECE OF PEACE - A World Heritage Site Made with LEGO® Bricks PART-3" was launched in 2012 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the adoption of the World Heritage Convention. This much-talked-about exhibition, which has attracted approximately 3 million visitors to date, is being held from October 28th to November 9th at the event space on the 6th floor of the main building of Matsuzakaya Ueno store in Tokyo.
This exhibition is the first joint project between PARCO_ya and Matsuzakaya Ueno, which will have their grand opening on November 4th. In addition to the main venue at Matsuzakaya Ueno, the exhibition will also be held at a satellite venue, a special space on the 2nd floor of PARCO_ya (from November 4th, free admission). The main exhibit is titled "LOVE EARTH/LOVE ASIA World Heritage Sites Made with LEGO® Bricks," and will feature 50 World Heritage Sites from 34 countries around the world made with LEGO® Bricks. Other attractions include a corner introducing UNESCO World Heritage activities, a "LEGO® Bricks Limited-Time Shop" with a wide selection of items, mainly LEGO® goods, and a visitor participation project called "Let's Make PEACE! Play Corner!"

In addition, under the theme of "My treasures I want to leave for the future," there will be an exhibition of works by participating artists and messages from cultural figures. This will feature a collaboration of message art from artists, creators, photographers, illustrators, contemporary artists, and others active both in Japan and overseas. Messages from cultural figures, musicians, and celebrities will also be introduced. Participating artists include AMKK (Azuma Makoto, Flower Tree Research Institute), Ishikawa Naoki, Ito Keiji, Imai Atsuhiro (Chiso Co., Ltd.), Umezu Kazuo, Enlightenment, Oiwa Larry Masashi, Lily Franky, Rolito, Kawamori Shoji, Candle JUNE, Kiri, Kinpro (Shinya Chisato), Kuroda Seitaro, Komiyama Hideaki (TGB design.), Sakaguchi Kyohei, Sato Risa, SUNDAY VISION, JEFFREY FULVIMARI, Jinushi Susumu, Tycoon Graphics, Dai Nippon Typo Association (Typo Association member), Takahashi Riko, Takahashi Masami, Tatemoto Rinko (Koropokkuru), Tanaka Katsuki, Tsuchiya Anna, Tsuchiya Akitsune, Daisy Balloon, Devil Robots, Dempagumi.inc, TOMATO, Namaiki, Hibino Kodue, Hastings International The exhibits include Airport's , , Honjo Naoki, Maki Kahori and Minami Shiho, MATTHEW WALDMAN+NOOKA, Matsuyama Tomokazu, Miura Jun , Miyashita Maki (photographer), and Rodney Alan Greenblatt (artist), and the contents of the exhibit may be subject to change. From November 4th, PARCO_ya will become a satellite venue for the exhibition, where some models will be on display free of charge.
