Oct 2, 2017

MUTEK.JP 2017, a global cultural and arts festival leveraging music and technology, will be held at the Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) in Odaiba, Tokyo, from November 3rd to 5th.
MUTEK, a world-class digital art and electronic music festival founded in Montreal, Canada in 2000, aims to foster digital creativity, electronic music, and audiovisual arts, and promote cultural and artistic activities by proposing new live entertainment. It has since been held in cities around the world, including Mexico City, Barcelona, and Buenos Aires, and continues to grow as an international festival.
MUTEK.JP launched in Tokyo in 2016, and in November of the same year, it held its first event at three venues: WWW, WWW X, and Red Bull Studio Tokyo in Shibuya, inviting over 20 artists and musicians from Japan and abroad. More than 20 internationally acclaimed musicians and artists, including German artist Carsten Nicolai (aka Alva Noto), Max Cooper, and Dasha Rush, participated in the event, attracting a total of over 3,000 attendees. This year's event will be held at the Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) in Odaiba, and will feature a variety of content, including digital art, technology, live entertainment, and workshops. London-based genius James Holden will perform an audio-visual showcase with his touring band, The Animal Spirit, and Berlin-based musician and media artist Robert Henke will also perform a live set from his project. Other performers include NONOTAK, a duo known for performing at media art events and festivals around the world, and Daito Manabe, a key figure in Japan's leading media art collective Rhizomatiks, who appeared as Daito Manabe & Nosaj Thing, selected as the New York Times' best act at Barcelona's Sonar Festival this year. Additionally, artists who made waves at MUTEK in Montreal in August, such as DUB SQUAD, Francesco Tristano, HVOB, and Intercity Express, will also be performing. Additionally, a collaborative event, "WOMB x MUTEK," is scheduled for late-night on the 4th at WOMB in Shibuya, and "MUTEK.JP x Red Bull Music Festival" will be held on the 5th in collaboration with the Red Bull Music Festival, which is also holding various events around Tokyo during the same period.

Tickets are on sale from October 2nd at Ticket Camp (https://ticketcamp.net) and other sites listed in the ticket information.
