The "EXPLORER COLLECTION," a collaboration between MARNI and PORTER, will be released on October 4th. This collaboration, which began at Christmas in 2013, marks its 10th anniversary. This commemorative collection features models that combine Marni prints by Francesco Risso, which debuted in the Fall/Winter 2017-18 season, with Yoshida & Co.'s masterpieces. Nylon oxford, a widely used bag material but known for its difficulty in producing delicate prints, is used for the collection, and an intricate checkered pattern in Marni's signature color scheme is printed by world-renowned Japanese printing craftsmen. Additionally, the colorless, transparent acrylic coating known as "fray stop," which is normally used on the back of all Yoshida & Co. bag materials to prevent fraying, has been colored this time, revealing the lining. The bag collection includes the "RUCKSACK" (112,000 yen), a backpack suitable for serious outdoor activities, the "BACKPACK" (54,000 yen, scheduled for release in late October), a very lightweight backpack designed for daily use, the "SHOULDER TOTE BAG" (42,000 yen, scheduled for release in late October), a simple tote bag with a shoulder strap, the "BUM BAG" (38,000 yen), a waist bag accented with tape on the front, and the "TRAVEL POUCH" (32,000 yen), a reproduction of Porter's classic passport case in a Marni print. Of these, Francesco Risso, Marni's new creative director, is said to be particularly fond of the "RUCKSACK" backpack. In addition, the wallet collection includes the "LONG WALLET" (30,000 yen), "HOLDING WALLET" (28,000 yen), "CARD CASE" (15,000 yen), "COIN CASE + CARABINER STRAP" (14,000 yen), and "NECK STRAP" (7,000 yen).

A launch event will be held on the first floor of Hankyu Men's Osaka and on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku Men's from October 4th to 10th. Pop-up shops will also be open at Isetan Haneda Men's Terminal 2 from October 4th to 17th, and at Hankyu Men's Tokyo from the 25th to 31st. Furthermore, the products will be available on the third floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store and at the Kobe Bar store from October 5th, and at the Kyoto Bar store and Nagoya Isetan House store from October 6th. They are also scheduled to be available at the United Arrows Roppongi Hills, Fukuoka, and Kanazawa stores from mid-October.
