Also Soup Stock Tokyo in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, will be hosting a Nordic food and lifestyle event called "Nordic Food, Sometimes a Big Flea Market" from September 23rd to October 1st. This event, a collaboration with POLARIS by SCANDEX, will feature Nordic cuisine with an also twist. Classic dishes like "Finnish Meatballs with Berry Stew" (1,380 yen) and "Norwegian Salmon with Dill Cream Soup" (1,500 yen) will be available, along with "Rich Forest Mushroom Soup" (980 yen), a limited-edition "Swedish-Style Cabbage Roll Gratin" (1,580 yen), "Beetroot Potato Salad" (480 yen), "Also-Style Jansson's Temptation" (680 yen), "Hasselback Potatoes" (580 yen), and the limited-edition "White Nights Soup" (880 yen). Additionally, the first floor of the store will be transformed into a flea market for the "Great Flea Market - Kiruptori" on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only, September 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, and October 1st. The market will feature Nordic tableware and living wear, centered around iittala tableware, offering a rare opportunity to see not only deadstock but also individually purchased vintage pieces. Additionally, on September 26th, a Nordic alcohol workshop titled "How to Enjoy Finnish Drinks and Food" will be held by the gin ambassador for the Finnish brand Kyrö. On the 27th, a talk session titled "Must-Visit Nordic Spots and How to Select Vintage Tableware" will be held by Taro Yamaguchi, owner of the Nordic furniture store talo, and Akiko Konishi, creative director of SCANDEX.
