Armani/Casa presents a new furniture and accessories collection that expresses the Giorgio Armani aesthetic in every aspect

Jun 21, 2022
The worldview and aesthetics of Armani/Casa, which pursues design, combines the richness of materials and diverse cultural elements, were brought out even more strongly in the pared-down space of Armani/Silos, the exhibition venue.

Evoking designer Giorgio Armani's often-used phrase, "stimulating revision and subtraction," the exhibition was structured to allow visitors to imagine the creative journey from the starting point to the finished product and to intuitively understand its essence.

"Over the past few years, when I design for Armani/Casa, I have focused on expressing the essential elements of my style. As with fashion, I feel the need to rediscover the fundamental elements that define the Armani style. The new collection was designed to be presented at Milan Salone and expresses every aspect of my aesthetic. By using Armani/Silos as the venue for the first time, I have been able to create an exhibition-like space that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Armani/Casa and experience a truly moving experience."

"This exhibition is a journey that unravels the brand's DNA through themes that evoke Armani/Casa's inspirations, the themes of the brand's founding, its recurring references to the 1930s and 1940s, the imagery and aesthetics of the East, particularly China and Japan, travel, and the natural world. Each of the eight themes - "WATER," "DECO," "LIQUID SILK," "JAPAN," "CHINA," "BAMBOO," "TIGERS," and "SAILING SHIP" - is introduced with a video, concluding with a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.

WATER
The Armani world begins with water, a symbol of life and rebirth. The background photography for this concept represents calm and peace. The underwater environment is inspired by nature, with greens and pure textures that evoke the elegance of the 1930s and 1940s.

WATER
DECO
Refined materials and exclusive, exclusive finishes are the hallmarks of Armani/Casa products. Wood, marble, quartz and shell create linear touches reminiscent of Art Deco, while mother-of-pearl mosaic tiles create spaces that stimulate the senses of touch. Captivating technical excellence is evident in furniture such as the OLIVIA desk.

DECO
LIQUID SILK
Fabric is a key element that connects fashion and furniture. Oriental colours and the fluidity of silk turn cushions and accessories into hidden highlights in your interior. The soft properties of silk also add extra comfort to the MORFEO bed.

Liquid Silk
JAPAN
The soft curves that delight the eyes and the touch are beautifully balanced with finishes, textures and treatments, inspired by abstract traditional Japanese elements and residential architecture. The "CLUB" bar cabinet features a lacquered surface and the same jacquard silk fan-shaped pattern fabric as the folding screens is lining the interior, creating a striking new fabric that strongly expresses Japan.

JAPAN
CHINA
The Chinese-themed space expresses Eastern aesthetics in an abstract way, with lacquered "JYLIA" chairs arranged in a black space to resemble four robes. The red, a color symbolizing joy and good fortune, creates a strong contrast with the otherwise colorless space.

CHINA
BAMBOO
The natural world is also a key theme of inspiration for Armani. The vertical flow of bamboo, on which dragonflies rest their light wings, creates a dignified space. Pieces on display include the compact and elegant "SHARON" chair, whose contours in Canaletto wood give the impression of a lightness that almost defies the laws of gravity, and the retro-attractive "SUITE" valet stand.

BANBOO
TIGERS
The discovery of nature, travel and exoticism is expressed through a painting depicting this year's Chinese zodiac animal, the tiger. The "RENOIR" sofa is covered in "SAO PAULO" fabric featuring a tiger motif, creating a surrealistic feel that evokes a sense of unity with nature and strength.

TIGER
SAILING SHIP
The balance between local traditions and exotic cultures, and the dialogue between past and present, were inspired by paintings dedicated to sailing ships. Examples include the "PASCAL" armchair, inspired by the seats of early 20th-century passenger ships, and the "SPACE" table, which combines Canaletto walnut wood with Plexiglas legs.
