AEVES, a fashion brand created by a design team led by Paris-based former COMMUUN designer Iku Furudate, opened its first standalone brick-and-mortar store on August 23rd in the Urban Closet on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. Launched in the Spring/Summer 2016 season, AEVES is managed by a collaboration between the Paris design and planning team and the Tokyo team at Baroque Japan Limited. "Fast fashion is great, but it's important for women to have a piece of clothing in their wardrobe that makes them feel special every time they wear it. At AEVES, we want to offer affordable fashion that exudes that special feeling," says Furudate. Drawing inspiration from the natural yet dignified beauty of Parisian women, the brand offers a wardrobe for mature women who embrace their natural beauty. The shop, which opened this spring after successively opening as a pop-up in department stores and select shops, will stock new items based on the theme of the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season, "PROMENADES D'HIVER."
