PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE has released "ANIMA OF ONOMATOPOEIA," a stop-motion video that depicts the world of "ONOMATOPOEIA," the theme of their 2017-18 Fall/Winter collection.

"ONOMATOPOEIA" is a collection that expresses the rich images that flow from words through dynamic patterns and shapes. The video, art directed by designer Tomohiro Okazaki, conveys a sense of joy through images of things being torn, folded, crumpled, scattered, stretched, and shrunk, all moving along with sound.

Okazaki has previously been involved in the planning and production of NHK Educational TV's "Design Ah! Disbandment!" and in planning and production assistance for the 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT "Design Anatomy Exhibition." This time, a special display will be available from August 23rd to 28th at Center Park/The Stage #4 on the 4th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building. From September 1st, it will also be available at PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE / AOYAMA, ROPPONGI, and ISSEY MIYAKE GINZA / OMOTE.
