Colorful chairs from Transparency, a Japanese transparent acrylic furniture brand, will be on display at Shinjuku Isetan

Aug 23, 2017

TRABSPARENCY, a furniture brand made from "transparent" acrylic resin, will open a limited-time shop at Living Decor on the 5th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building from August 23rd to September 5th.

Transparency is a material furniture brand launched by Shinko Plastics Co., Ltd., a long-established company representing the plastic materials industry. Based on the theme of "BLENDS IN EVERYWHERE" (=transparent colors), meaning "a strong presence while blending in anywhere like air," the brand offers all-weather furniture that combines design and functionality based on acrylic's resistance to water and heat, as demonstrated by its use in aquarium tanks.

The limited-time shop will feature a lineup centered around the brand's first collection, released in December 2016, including a wide range of chairs with simple, object-like, colorful designs that take advantage of the transparency and texture unique to acrylic.
