Part 1 of the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art's inaugural exhibition, "A Story of Life and Beauty: LIFE - In Search of Paradise," will run from August 26 to October 3, and from October 5 to November 5. The exhibition explores the fundamental theme of art, "life," as a journey in search of a 'wonderful world,' or paradise, and is divided into eight chapters: "Childhood," "Love," "Everyday Life," "Emotions," "Dreams," "Death," "Primitives," and "Nature." The exhibition showcases works from museum collections both in Japan and abroad, ranging from Impressionist artists such as Renoir to fin de siècle art by Klimt and Schiele, 20th-century modern artists such as Picasso and Chagall, and modern Japanese paintings by Aoki Shigeru and Shimomura Kanzan, creating new encounters with art. Additionally, "Artists @ TAD" will feature open workshops in the museum's third-floor studio from August 23 to 25, followed by the TAD Gallery on the first floor from August 26 to September 18. In addition, on August 26th, "Bread Man @TAD" will be held, featuring contemporary artist Orimoto Tatsumi and 30 performers selected from the public, and on the 27th, a tour of the works will be held with explanations by a curator.
Events to commemorate the museum's full opening include a commemorative concert by cellist Hanasaki Kaoru and her husband, violinist Atsuo, a commemorative talk event by a graphic designer, and a performance show by Shige-chan Ichiza, produced by Muroi Shigeru.
