Since its launch in the summer of 2020, Heaven by Marc Jacobs has been a gender-fluid expression of '90s nostalgia and youth rebellion. For its latest collaboration with Dr. Martens, Heaven by Marc Jacobs Creative Director Ava Nirui has created a collaborative model that plays on two signature Dr. Martens styles, presenting a modern take on a silhouette reminiscent of the '90s.


Since its debut in the early 1900s, the Mary Jane silhouette has been seen in a variety of styles and occasions. This slip-on style is a feminine shoe known worldwide as an icon of children's fashion, especially for girls. Dr. Martens introduced the classic T-strap Mary Jane in the '80s, and it remains a beloved shoe today, combining feminine design with durable welt construction for rugged construction and a rebellious attitude.


The collaborative model, the ADDINA DS BEX HMJ, is a Mary Jane shoe crafted from classic black smooth leather and featuring a 1.5-inch (approximately 3.8 cm) BEX outsole. Double welt stitching, a symbol of Dr. Martens' rebellious spirit, adds a touch of attitude. The brushed silver buckle features Heaven by Marc Jacobs' double-headed bear, making this a shoe that can be worn at school, a rebellious icon, or anywhere you'd like, from Paris runways to grunge shows to Harajuku, elevating any occasion to a new level.


The other collaboration model is a platform sandal: the RICKI 2-STRAP HMJ, featuring a supple black branded leather upper and a lightweight 1.9-inch (approximately 4.8cm) quad neoteric platform sole. The adjustable straps, including the iconic double-headed bear on the heel strap, add a touch of brand personality. These two collaboration models will be available from June 6, 2022 at the Dr. Martens official online store, Showroom TYO, the Marc Jacobs official online store, and Heaven by Marc Jacobs stores.
