Prada's Spring/Summer 2018 Men's Collection was unveiled in Milan on June 18th. Guided by comic-style illustrations covering the walls, visitors entered the show hall, where the walls, ceiling, and floor were covered in comics. The hand-drawn line drawing of a monkey wearing a space suit, with laser beams emanating from its eyes, and stripes that evoke a sense of speed, were emblematic of the space. The new chapter of the "365" advertising campaign, "Draft Novel," photographed by Willy Vanderperre and released on the brand's official website after the runway presentation, also featured comics as a backdrop, suggesting a draft for a new era. Sleeves of tops were rolled up, and cardigans and blousons were all tucked in. Pants were either tied with Prada logo tape or rolled up, and the color balance of the feet was the focal point. The key to the overall look is the balance of shoes—combined saddle shoes reminiscent of 50s rockabilly style, old-school basketball shoes, velcro-type high-tech sneakers, and strap sandals—with striped socks and shirts.

Comic patterns appear as this season's iconic pieces, appearing on a variety of items including blousons, belts, waist pouches, shoulder bags, jumpsuits, and shirts. They are paired with futuristic sunglasses and classic cardigans and sweaters.

Shorts and knee-high socks have been gaining attention as a new Milanese men's style for several seasons. Trend-setting Prada's vision of a new man is both futuristic and nostalgic.

A comic-print blouson and tweed herringbone pants make it clear that the next generation of teddy boys has arrived from the millennium.
