30th Anniversary Duffer Collaboration with Vans

Jul 2, 2014

Joy'x Corporation's "Duffer of St. George" will release a collaboration sneaker and long-sleeved T-shirt with Vans in early August to celebrate the brand's 30th anniversary.
The sneakers are based on Vans' classic "Old Skool" and feature a combination of suede leather and Duffer's original flannel check fabric. The numbers "19" and "84," the years the brand was founded, are embroidered on the left and right sides of the heel. The insole features Ortholite, which is highly breathable and absorbent, providing comfort and durability even during extended wear. The price is ¥14,000. Only 500 pairs of each color are available.
The long-sleeved T-shirt is made of sturdy, thick-count air-spun jersey fabric with ribbing on the cuffs. The front features the same "1984" as the 30th-anniversary sneakers, while the back features a slightly modified version of the familiar Vans logo.

Duffer is known for his styling that brings preppy (school-like) styles into smart casual, and a company spokesperson proudly stated, "We think the name Vans' 'Old School' is a good nickname." He added, "We'd like people to try styling that creates a contrast between mischievous schoolboy style and sophisticated wear."
