The Conran Shop, a British home furnishings store celebrating its 20th anniversary in Japan, is holding a collaborative exhibition with OZONE, a living design center also celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The exhibition, based on the concept of "PLAIN SIMPLE USEFUL," captures lifestyles from a broad perspective and is presented as a spatial installation that is applied to real life.
Terence Conran's new book, "PLAIN SIMPLE USEFUL" (published by Conran Octopus), which explains shortcuts to living a richer and more comfortable everyday life, will also be released. 50 signed copies of the book by Conran will also be available for sale.
Limited edition items commemorating The Conran Shop's 20th anniversary will also be available. The new Y-chair (112,000 yen), a combination of two types of wood, oak and walnut, and a new model of the Anglepoise desk lamp (52,000 yen), which was selected as one of the "Top 10 British Designs" and featured on a commemorative postage stamp, will be available early. The lineup also includes the ergonomic Nicolle Chair (34,000 yen), which is comfortable to sit in and highly durable. The event will run from August 7th to September 30th at Living Design Center Ozone in Shinjuku, Tokyo (Ozone Plaza, 3-7-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Shinjuku Park Tower 3F). It will also be held simultaneously at The Conran Shop Marunouchi and three other stores nationwide, as well as The Conran Shop Kitchen and The Conran Shop Cafe Shinjuku.
