An exhibition capturing a sparkling week in Paris is being held in Daikanyama

Jul 28, 2014

The female duo Sophie et Chocolat will be holding their solo exhibition "A Week in Paris" at Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama starting August 29th. Following the success of their September 2013 exhibition "French Girls School," this exhibition is now available. It depicts a Parisian week, showcasing "styling and items that seem to have been captured from sparkling moments," from fashion, shopping, parties, makeup, and music, as accessible art. Sophie et Chocolat will also be taking on new creative challenges, including portraits of Parisian women as imagined, fictional diaries, and collaborative works with French female friends. Approximately 50 pieces, including original canvas paintings, drawings, photographs, and collages, will be on display and for sale. The store stocks new items such as bags, pouches, accessories, and cross doll kits, as well as popular staples, and the "French Flea Market" corner offers vintage goods such as tins, lace, and buttons.

Sophie et Chocolat is a unit formed by Kyoko Hatanaka and Chieko Onodera, who were designers at Curly Collection, an original clothing and miscellaneous goods store in Daikanyama. With the theme of "French Girls Vintage," the store showcases polka dot and sparkly clothing, vintage goods, and items found at flea markets in Paris. In addition to the online shop, the store is also available at JR Osaka Mitsukoshi Isetan and Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku's "hands be."
