PORTER CLASSIC, founded in 2007 by Katsuyuki Yoshida, son of the founder of Yoshida & Co., is hosting a custom order event featuring hand-silkscreened T-shirts at the Men's Residence on the 8th floor of the Isetan Men's Building. The event runs until July 15th. The brand holds a custom exhibition featuring silkscreened T-shirts at its flagship stores every summer, and this year, some of the custom T-shirts will be available at the building. The silkscreen illustrations are by mimoe, who also handles the brand's artwork. Customers can choose from 15 designs to print on their T-shirts, including monochrome designs depicting everyday scenes from children's lives and soft illustrations evocative of travel destinations. Five sizes are available, from XS to XL. The T-shirts, which Yoshida personally selected, feature circular knit fabric with no side seams, allowing for silkscreen printing on the sides. Compared to last year's model, the neckline has been made wider to make them more comfortable for women. The delivery time from order to delivery is approximately 10 days. The price is 7,000 yen for the T-shirt itself, plus a printing fee (500 to 3,000 yen). A sales representative at the store commented, "Porter Classic's customer base ranges from their 20s to 60s, but they all share an interest in the manufacturing process and a desire to use high-quality items for a long time. Our in-store bags, made with indigo-dyed nylon for a comfortable fit, are popular because they develop a unique character over time. We hope that this T-shirt will also be a personal favorite for many years to come." Porter Classic's stance of "returning to the origins of craftsmanship and expressing the quality of Japanese craftsmanship" aligned with Isetan's "JAPAN SENSES" initiative, which runs throughout the year. Since April of this year, the store has been open for business on the 8th floor of the same building.
