ISSEY MIYAKE MEN will be selling its new "FLYFRONT" sneaker series for a limited time at the Designer Shoes Corner/Shoe Lab on the first basement floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building. The sale runs until August 5th. The venue will feature 14 new sneakers, inspired by the current collection's theme, "European Nature," in two styles: low-top (36,000-40,000 yen) and high-top (40,000-44,000 yen). The designs are inspired by natural elements like rainbows and magma, and include rainbow and magma patterns, featuring the same prints as the brand's clothing. The sneakers also include silver and red accents with foiled leather for a unique sheen, black and white with a sportier, more casual grid upper, and all-black leather options. The FLYFRONT series features a concealed placket from the collar to the toe. The idea for this was apparently inspired by the brand's classic line of fly-front shirts.
The buyer in charge commented, "This is a great opportunity to introduce the worldview of Takahashi Yusuke, who was appointed as the new designer from the 2014 Spring/Summer season, not only to customers of the brand's existing shop on the 6th floor of the Men's Building, but also to potential customers throughout the Men's Building. The bold cutting techniques and metallic colors are innovative yet elegant."
