A solo exhibition by graphic artist Ryoono will be held at hpgrp GALLERY TOKYO in Aoyama, Tokyo, from July 25th. Ryoono's work has traditionally focused on plants and animals, symbols of the essential undulations and vitality of life, but the theme of this exhibition is "plants." Using pencil drawings and digital collage techniques, he expresses the richness and beauty of plants, akin to "desire." An opening reception will also be held at 7:00 PM on the 25th. Previously located in Jingumae, hpgrp GALLERY TOKYO will relocate to the basement floor of the Ohara School Hall on Antique Street in Aoyama on the first day of the exhibition. This floor is also home to the men's lifestyle shop DECOdeBONAIR, run by H.P. FRANCE, and the izakaya Tokyo October. Ryo Ono began working as a freelancer in 2000, working in a wide range of fields including graphic design, textiles, and murals. His clients range from apparel brands such as Asics, Nike, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Vans, John Lawrence Sullivan, and Levi's to commercial facilities such as Lumine and Tokyu Department Store.
