
Vol. 15, the first bimonthly issue of the ideas and innovation magazine WIRED, was released on March 10th. Launched in the United States in 1993, the magazine is currently distributed in five countries, and in Japan, the website and magazine were simultaneously launched in June 2011. The magazine covers all aspects of society, from culture to science, business, medicine, and entertainment. This issue, the largest in the magazine's history at over 70 pages, features a design feature, "SPECIAL FEATURE: WIRED by Design: 25 Stories About Design." Through 25 ideas, including stories from Burberry, which reimagines luxury fashion brands, and an interview with Jonathan Ive, designer of the Apple Watch, the magazine offers an overview of the ever-expanding cutting edge of design. Other features include "DO ADJUST YOUR SET TO NETFLIX: Coming Soon to Japan! What's So Great About Netflix?", featuring Reed Hastings of Netflix, the company that provides film content on DVD and online. The CEO of Netflix, which has revolutionized the video entertainment industry with streaming and in-depth data analysis, talks about the future of TV. Also featured is "Alte Forsterei!!! Union Berlin: Community Design for a Civic Team," which focuses on Alte Försterei, a club for hardcore British soccer fans. It explores the ongoing form of community design centered around soccer passion. Other new series starting soon include "DJ TARO's Sci-Fi Movie Realization Laboratory," "MEET THE LEGEND," "THE GRAND CHALLENGE," and "WIRED X (experience, experiment & explore)."
