Fashion designer Toshikazu Iwatani has been appointed director of Sanyo Shokai's women's brand, TO BE CHIC.
Since his debut at DRESSCAMP in 2003, Iwatani has pioneered a unique worldview with his decorative and powerful designs. In 2004, he won the 22nd Mainichi Fashion Newcomer Award and the 6th Moët & Chandon New Designer Award. In 2008, he left the brand to launch his own brand, IWAYA FOR DRESS 33, but put it on hold. In 2012, he returned to DRESSCAMP and has been holding runway shows at Tokyo Collection.
TO BE CHIC is scheduled to release its 15AW collection in May, which will be Iwatani's first collection.
