Bottega Veneta's 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection was a parade of diverse patterns. Straight lines, curves, lace, and more all featured, but the retro-modern polka dots dominated the first half of the collection. This coat (645,000 yen) is no exception, featuring a full-pattern design. The five-color polka dot pattern creates a gradation effect, evoking a contemporary yet playful mood. Another notable feature is the silhouette. The firm double wool material is expertly cut to express the silhouette. While rounded, the silhouette is straightforward and highly structured. The shoulders, in particular, appear set-in at first glance, but darts running from the collar to the shoulders create an almost right-angled appearance. This is a typical piece from designer Tomas Maier, known for his love of architecture. It's truly an outstanding piece.
