"ku:nel" undergoes its first major renewal since its launch! The editor-in-chief is Yodogawa Miyoko, the editor-in-chief of "Olive"

Dec 2, 2015

Lifestyle magazine "ku:nel" will undergo its first major overhaul since its launch with the release of its March issue on January 20, 2016. Launched in 2003 by Magazine House, "ku:nel" is based on the concept of "lifestyle and objects with a story." With a new theme of "I want to be excited by cute things," the reborn "ku:nel" provides a variety of information to inspire life, from fashion and beauty to interior design, cooking, and travel, for women in their 50s who feel they remain young at heart, even as they age. The new editor-in-chief is Miyoko Yodogawa, who helped shape the heyday of lifestyle magazine "Olive," which gave birth to the social phenomenon "Olive Girl," and later served as editor-in-chief of "anan" and "GINZA." The March issue, on sale January 20, introduces lifestyle tips from French women. While less than 30% of Japanese women consider themselves happy, 80% of French women consider themselves happy. Through interviews with French women, the magazine explores the reasons for this and hints at happiness. Other features include an introduction to Korean cuisine and interviews by culinary expert Ko Kentetsu, as well as essays by Yoshimoto Banana and Matsuura Yataro.
