adidas Originals' new lifestyle sneaker, the NMD, will be released worldwide on December 12th in limited quantities.

The way sneakers are worn is undergoing a major transformation. They have evolved from a means to run faster and more comfortably to a fashion statement. adidas Originals defines sneaker wearers as "those driven by a desire for experience, inspired by the past, yet always looking to the future, with a never-ending lifestyle." The NMD is a new sneaker for urban adventurers, for whom the things they wear mean the world.

The NMD from adidas Originals combines adidas Originals DNA with cutting-edge technology. The design inherits the cutting-edge adidas style of each era while adding a modern interpretation. As a homage to products that have revolutionized the history of the adidas Originals brand, iconic parts from the adidas archives, such as the Micropacer, Rising Star, and Boston Super, have been deconstructed and fused with 2016 technology. They are combined with adidas' cutting-edge technologies, BOOST foam and Primeknit material. Nick Galway, Vice President of Global Design at adidas Originals, commented on the design, "At adidas, we are a pioneering brand. Each of our archives has always depicted the best technology of the time, and they continue to inspire us today. The archives are not just something to look at; they are tools and reference points." The first release, "NMD_R1," will be available from December 12th at the Adidas Originals Flagship Store Tokyo, Adidas Originals Shop Shinsaibashi, the Adidas online shop, as well as Undefeated Tokyo, UNITED ARROWS & SONS, mita sneakers, and more. The price is 23,300 yen.
