"books, coffee & merry Christmas." is currently being held at Center Park/TOKYO Kaihoku, the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku, proposing a new way to spend Christmas centered around books and coffee. The event runs until the 25th.
In response to the growing number of people looking to spend Christmas in an unconventional way, this event proposes the ultimate luxury amidst our hectic daily lives: a relaxing Christmas filled with books and movies, accompanied by a gift for a loved one. Based on the theme of "gifts with a story," the event offers a wide range of items, including books, movies, miscellaneous goods, and apparel, that are perfect for gifts to friends, family, and even yourself.
The "books and movies you'll want to give this Christmas" were selected by Shintaro Uchinuma, representative of NUMABOOKS, a creative team involved in a variety of book-related activities. To enjoy a book with your coffee, PADDLERS COFFEE, which has been making waves as the first coffee shop in Japan to serve STUMPTOWN COFFEE ROASTERS from Portland, USA, a pioneer of third-wave coffee, will be on sale, along with coffee-related books, mugs, and sweets selected by Uchinuma. Also available will be merchandise in collaboration with "A Film About Coffee," a documentary film about coffee culture due for release in December. The store also carries a lineup of accessories to brighten up the Christmas season and general goods that are in high demand during the gift season. JUN OKAMOTO will offer book covers, hair turbans, and bow ties, and will also be accepting made-to-order orders during the period.
In addition, Isetan's original brand, NEEDLE DESIGN, has prepared a limited edition knitwear collection based on knitwear from Okuyama Meriyasu, one of Japan's leading knitwear factories, and processed by YUKI FUJISAWA, with motifs based on books selected by Uchinuma.
In addition, items recommended for Christmas gifts have been selected. Candles from OLGA-goose candle, which are all handmade, and cotton pearl accessories from somnium have been selected. Pouch brand Accommode will be offering a champagne-themed pouch and a clutch bag with a coffee paper bag motif.
