An event where you can experience theater through a "sense of passing by" is being held at Yokohama's "Zou-no-hana Terrace"

Dec 19, 2015

Theater ZOU-NO-HANA 2015, an event to bring theater closer to people, is being held by the theater company Mamagoto at Zou-no-Hana Terrace and other venues in Yokohama until December 23rd. Mamagoto was founded in 2009 by playwright and director Yukio Shiba. They perform at a variety of venues, from modern theater to elementary school cultural festivals. This annual event, held since 2013, is based on the concept of "passing by theater" and creates a performing park (a theatrical park space) where anyone can experience theater and dance. Events include "Zou-no-Hana Exercise," where participants exercise while enjoying the view from Zou-no-Hana Park; "Zou-no-Hana Switch," a short 3- to 30-second play where "something happens when you press a switch;" "Zou-no-Hana Cruise," a cruise-theater experience with a view of Yokohama; and "Zou-no-Hana Radio," broadcast live from the venue. In addition to the reading performance, events such as the "Zou-no-Hana Lunch Reading" are also planned, where you can enjoy food from the cafe restaurant Charan Paulin.
