Ginza Maison Hermès 2015 Christmas window display created by a young architectural unit

Dec 22, 2015

Hermès is showcasing a humorous window display at Ginza Maison Hermès through January 19, 2016. Architects Maki Onishi and Yuki Hyakuta designed the window display facing Harumi-dori. The artwork for the display was inspired by the unusual idea of "what if architecture walked through the city like a living thing?" It evokes a mysterious world that resembles both a small building and a living landscape. Until December 25, a photo space featuring an orange box tree will be set up in the pilotis in front of the entrance facing Sony Street, where visitors can take commemorative photos. This tree will also be on display at the Hermès Midosuji store until the 25th. You can also enjoy Hermès' Christmas on their website. Starting December 8, a special website called "Traveling Music Box" will be available, allowing you to send Christmas songs from your smartphone, tablet, or computer. On this special website, you can choose your favorite Christmas song from six options, add a message, and send it to a loved one. Three humorous characters, like those straight out of a picture book, will deliver the music box you choose in an orange box.
