Starting June 11, Fred Perry will begin accepting pre-orders for sunglasses made in collaboration with Oliver Goldsmith, Europe's leading eyewear brand. This marks Fred Perry's first sunglasses offering.
Oliver Goldsmith's sunglasses, which garnered attention in the 1950s for their sensational designs and colors, sparked a huge boom in Europe. After a brief hiatus, the brand made a vibrant comeback in 2005. These unique and edgy sunglasses have been worn by many celebrities, including Vogue photographer David Bailey, Peter Sellers, Michael Caine, John Lennon, Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco, Audrey Hepburn, and Jacqueline Onassis.
Now, Fred Perry has commissioned Oliver Goldsmith to create its first sunglasses. The collection includes models such as "AUDREY" (34,000 yen), a reproduction of the model famously worn by Audrey Hepburn and featured in films such as "Charade" and "How to Steal a Million," and "ANNABEL" (33,000 yen), a rare, narrow frame for Oliver Goldsmith, featuring a beautiful, sharp form accented by a keyhole on the bridge. All sunglasses feature engraved Oliver Goldsmith logos on the lenses and included cleaning gloss, and are presented in original boxes.
Pre-orders for the sunglasses will be accepted from June 11th to 19th, with general release starting July 15th. Early release will also be available in the Tokyo and Osaka stores from July 1st. Pop-up shops commemorating this collaboration will also be open at the Tokyo store from July 1st to 10th, and at the Osaka store from July 15th to 24th. A limited edition matte navy version of Annabelle will be available at only two stores, and Oliver Goldsmith's valuable archive collection will also be on display.
