
UNDERCOVER, led by Jun Takahashi, is holding a limited-time event at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. The event will run until the 28th. The newly launched men's line, "The Shepherd," will be unveiled at the event.
The Shepherd offers clothes that Takahashi himself wants to wear now, clothes that can be worn life-size. The "shepherd" in the brand name means shepherd or leader. The brand was also inspired by Yoshie Tominaga's photo book "The Shepherd," which captured Undercover's backstage at 10 Paris Collections over five years from 2002 to 2007. The lineup features simple yet playful pieces, such as tailored jackets with shirred sleeves and shirts and pants with lamb designs on the chest and pockets.
The event will also feature a variety of limited-edition collaboration items with various brands. Limited-edition leather jackets will be available in collaboration with Undercover, Comme des Garçons, and the UK's Lewis Leathers, while Undercover's iconic apple-shaped light, "GILAPPLE," will be available in a leopard print in collaboration with WACKO MARIA. The façade will feature eye-catching pop colors like fluorescent pink and fluorescent green. Items on display include a diverse color palette of T-shirts and outerwear, including gold and silver, as well as orange, blue, yellow, pink, and purple. The buyer in charge of the event commented, "In the fashion industry, which is always seeking newness, there is growing interest in countercultures against trends like normcore. One aspect of this counterculture is the strength of '90s fashion, and another is color versus monotone. I hope to convey the joy of fashion."
