Rinko Kikuchi moves to the next stage! Her debut album will be released in Europe as well

Jan 29, 2015

Fresh off her New Year's Day marriage announcement, Rinko Kikuchi is once again making waves. Her debut album, "Taboo" (¥3,000), which was released in Japan late last year, will be released across Europe on February 16th. It was produced by musician Naruyoshi Kikuchi. Rinko goes by the name "Rinbjo" when performing as an artist. While the label she's most interested in is Grand Palais/Modulor in France, she's already received offers from American labels. The album contains 14 tracks, featuring a stellar lineup of artists, including Naruyoshi Kikuchi, N/K, MARIA from SIMI LAB, Hi-spec, DyyPRIDE, OMSB, Shiro Tanaka, Kazutani Kikuchi, Yuya Miwa, Tomomi Oda, and Toshiyuki Owada. According to Naruyoshi, the opportunity to produce the album came from a direct request from Rinbjo. He caught a call from her while he was in the car, and she said, "I want to make music, so I want you to produce it. I want it to be erotic and gory." The result is a unique worldview that can be enjoyed not only through the vocals of artist Rimbjo, but also through rap and recitation. Additionally, a video of Rimbjo appearing as a secret guest on the second day (DAY.2 - intoxicate dash) of the event "TOWER RECORDS 35th Anniversary Live! EBISU 6DAYS" held at Ebisu Liquid Room on November 17, 2014, is now available on YouTube.
