On February 25th, ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS will release a limited edition of its L'EAU D'ISSEY fragrance for Spring 2015. The theme of the eau de toilette, L'EAU D'ISSEY CITY BLOSSOM (9,000 yen for 50ml, 12,500 yen for 90ml), is "nature breathing in the city." It evokes the image of flowers blooming in the eaves of a florist's shop, their leaves unfurling across the sidewalk. Perfumer Alberto Morillas interprets the scent of flowers blooming in a city surrounded by concrete as "the sublime breath of spring." The top note of pink peppercorn, laced with citrus, heralds the arrival of a lively spring. The fragrance hints at the caramel scent of L'Eau d'Issey, expressing the vitality of a budding flower bud. The heart notes feature the fresh floral scents of Osmanthus, Freesia, and Magnolia, while the base notes reveal the powerful scent of Ambrox and White Musk. Together with Natural White Cedarwood and Virginian, it completes a bouquet of flowers in full bloom. The graphic design for the packaging and bottle was created by French visual street artist Mademoiselle Maurice. The cheerful packaging, depicting a butterfly beginning to flutter on a street corner, captures the delicate beauty of the fragrance. Additionally, a live installation by Mademoiselle Maurice inspired by City Blossom will be held at four ISSEY MIYAKE flagship stores around the world, including Tokyo. In Tokyo, a live installation and talk event will be held at ISSEY MIYAKE / AOYAMA on February 12th, and the completed installation will be on display until March 3rd. Additionally, to coincide with the event, the store is scheduled to begin pre-sales from February 12th. Talk: Registration for the event will begin on January 21st via the website (http://www.isseymiyake/city_blossom/).
