Anthony Vaccarello appointed creative director of Versus Versace

Jan 23, 2015

Anthony Vaccarello has been appointed creative director of Versus Versace. Since winning the Grand Prize at the Hyères International Fashion Festival in 2006, Anthony Vaccarello has garnered attention for his revealing dresses featuring bold cutting techniques. He also won the ANDAM Prize in 2012. In September 2014, he released a capsule collection with Versus Versace, which sold out immediately after its release, and the high praise it received is said to have led to his appointment. Donatella Versace has been overseeing the brand since the 2013-14 autumn/winter season, and her design team has been responsible for the main collection. Anthony will now be in charge of both the brand's women's and men's lines, including accessories. Donatella, artistic director, will continue to oversee the brand.

Regarding his appointment, Anthony commented, "Donatella Versace is my inspiration. Together with her, we are developing many exciting plans for the future of Versus Versace."

Donatella also said, "I love Anthony's work and have been following his work since his first collection. When I first met him, I immediately felt he was a perfect fit for Versus Versace. His energy and innovation are very refreshing, and I always want to be surrounded by young talent like him who can breathe new life into Versace."
