On February 26, 2022, Dolce & Gabbana unveiled their Fall/Winter 2022-23 women's collection. Through their Fall/Winter 2022-23 women's collection, Dolce & Gabbana presented a new vision of the brand's DNA.

Key words included "metaverse," "sculptural, geometric shapes," "80s aesthetics," and "gaming, virtual heroines." Reinterpreting Sicily and the iconic color black in the cyber world of the metaverse, new heroines representing DNA 3.0 appeared as if they had stepped out of a game. These heroines are undeniably sexy, but their vision is far from stereotypical; instead, they embody sexiness as an inseparable part of each individual's personality and style.

An evolution is also evident in the choice and use of textures. Modern, technical materials evoke the metaverse. Iridescent sheen, crocodile print, mirrored faux fur, laminates, new wrap knits, nylon – these materials amplify the images to the extreme, evoking the process by which the ideas for this show were born and developed.

The show focused on proportion, volume and line, with the designers creating new silhouettes that were sculptural and geometric. With its inverted triangle lines, the classic jacket is reimagined in oversized and technical fabrics, accentuated by volume and oversized shoulders. Despite its masculine influence, each style remains sexy.

Black, red, metallic and strong, bold colours emphasise the uniqueness of the looks and characters. In one look, the line between reality and imagination becomes blurred, with a white T-shirt and a black corset arranged like trompe l'oeil. The look, finished with a logo print and an overcoat made of eco-fur in a combination of colors, gives it a virtual impression as if it has jumped out of the game.

Gianpiero D'Alessandro (GIANPIERO D'ALESSANDRO) Comment
"To me, Dolce & Gabbana represents all that Italian beauty. I still remember the first time I met Stefano and Domenico and presented them with the sketches I had made for them. They began to tell me their story and how it all began. I will never forget the passion in their eyes. It is a great pleasure for me to collaborate with a brand that has written, and continues to write, the story of the fashion world." Proudly made in "Italy" (Proudly Made in Italy). In my imagination, Dolce & Gabbana is a happy place, and I chose this graphic because I wanted to express emotive virtues, such as memories of a carefree childhood.

The focal point of the accessories collection is a pair of stiletto-heeled sandals with playful zips and straps. They're paired with black knee-high socks. Futuristic pieces include boots in silver and gold crocodile print, colorful rubber toy shoes, and mules and maxi boots made from faux fur.

The leather goods collection incorporates three concepts. The first is rigid, sculptural, and geometric shapes. They're minimalist, with a touch of '80s flair. Elements like hardware and straps are stripped down to the bare essentials, highlighting the shapes. The second is soft bags made from ruffled calfskin. The third is a shopping bag made from faux fur.
