The All Ginza Association Tokyo Creative Salon Ginza Area Executive Committee (Executive Chairman: Takehiko Furuya) will hold the "TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2022 GINZA" project-based creative event featuring fashion, art, music, food, culture, and more in Ginza from March 15th to 31st, 2022, in collaboration with local communities and private companies, with the aim of "making Tokyo a city of fashion and art" and strongly promoting Tokyo's creativity to the world.


The Ginza area is themed around "RE: LOOK (double look)," and an eye-catching, photogenic box-shaped installation called A_BOX (※1) will be installed at Ralph Lauren Ginza (※Exhibition period: March 18th to March 27th). In addition, in conjunction with A_BOX, visuals will be exhibited in the show windows of six commercial facilities, including Matsuya Ginza, Mitsukoshi Ginza, Wako, Tokyu Plaza Ginza, GINZA SIX, and Ginza Belvia.

In addition, a fashion event will be held on March 19th. Participants wearing a scarf, a symbol of Ginza retro fashion, will receive special benefits at various stores, including a makeup show in front of the Matsuya Ginza main window as a tie-up event with Magazine House Co., Ltd.'s "Kunel" and the Tokyo Creative Salon Ginza Area Executive Committee. In addition, street snapshots will be taken by professional photographers on Matsuya-dori and Miyuki-dori. Whether you're a Ginza lover or someone new to the area, the entire city will be excited for 15 days of fun exploring. *1: A_BOX is an installation by artists with a theme symbolizing each of the areas where TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2022 will be held: Ginza, Nihonbashi, Marunouchi, Shibuya, and Harajuku. "Tokyo Creative Salon" is a project that aims to position Tokyo as one of the leading fashion cities, alongside Paris, Milan, New York, and London, and promotes Tokyo-born creative expression to the world. With the shared goal of "making Tokyo a city of fashion and art" and strongly promoting Tokyo's creativity to the world, this project-based creative event brings together events from multiple areas of Tokyo (Ginza, Nihonbashi, Marunouchi, Shibuya, and Harajuku) featuring fashion, art, music, food, and culture.


TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2022 GINZA Creative Concept


TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2022 is being held under the slogan "Turning Tokyo into a city of fashion and art." In conjunction with the large-scale event, the Ginza area has adopted the concept of "RE: LOOK." This place, which values tradition and innovation, is one of the areas hit hard by COVID-19. It was precisely at a time like this that we felt it was necessary to create an eye-catching presence in Ginza that would make people take a second look. The box-shaped installation, called "GLITCH MIRROR" A_BOX, uses an expression that expands on the idea of a full-length mirror, decomposing and reconstructing the images of visitors into never-before-seen forms. Furthermore, we are working with the city and commercial facilities to create an eye-catching look for the entire area. We hope that both Ginza lovers and those who have never been connected to the area before will enjoy exploring the area.

As editing our appearance has become commonplace and our existence has become increasingly virtual, opportunities to see our "true selves" have decreased. However, at the same time, we are living in an age where new forms of appearance are beginning to emerge.


Inspired by the full-length mirror, this piece abandons the mirror's original role and reflects a new you, far removed from the true self.

1. Hair and makeup artist Hiromi Yamamoto will perform a makeup show in front of the Matsuya Ginza main window, with the theme "Spring Ginza Casual with a Scarf."
