
Fashion model Risa Hirako was born on February 14, 1971, in Tokyo. Her father worked in the apparel industry, and her mother, Kiyoko Hirako, introduced nail art to Japan. She transferred to an international school in elementary school and moved to the United States at age 15. After attending high school there, she went on to Santa Monica College to study art. She returned to Japan at age 19 and entered the entertainment industry after being scouted in Harajuku. She made her modeling debut in the fashion magazine "JJ" and gained popularity by appearing on the covers of numerous magazines. She launched her own fashion brand, "Three Unicorns," collaborated with the bag brand "Samantha Thavasa," and produced jewelry.
