Wacoal's new shop, "Anfifulful," opens to meet the demand for colorful underwear

Feb 18, 2014

Wacoal's directly managed store brand, AMPHI, is launching a new innerwear coordination shop, AMPHI FUL FRU. The store will begin nationwide expansion with the opening of the LaLaport Tokyo Bay store on March 14. Based on the concept of "enjoy coordinating your outfits as if they were your outfit of the day," the store offers a new value in innerwear for women in their late 20s and 30s. The colorful bras and panties are available in eight main colors, with three bras and 12 panty styles in each color, allowing for 36 combinations per color. Mixing and matching colors allows for countless coordination possibilities. The store also carries homewear and accessories that can be coordinated with underwear, as well as tops and bottoms. Sales staff will offer coordination suggestions in a style similar to that of clothing salespeople. Prices range from ¥1,995 to ¥5,670 for bras, ¥945 to ¥3,360 for panties, and ¥3,360 for homewear. The shop design was handled by art director Yoshida Yuni, who also oversaw the overall direction of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The interior, inspired by a Scandinavian fruit stand lined with colorful fruits, features newly developed fixtures arranged in eight colors and 36 basic coordination options. Various visual displays allow customers to receive suggestions for new underwear coordination while shopping. Amphi is a select lingerie shop where customers can explore a wide variety of styles and items in the same way as they would at a clothing select shop. The shop boasts original labels such as "A by amphi," which offers life-size lingerie, and "body conscious," which offers bras and panties for everyday use. Amphi Furufuru was born in response to changes in innerwear selection, such as the success of series offering a wider range of color mixes in bras and panties in recent years.
