Vinyl Archive holds exhibition featuring Jiro Konami and others, limited edition T-shirts on sale

Feb 19, 2014

The first exhibition of works by VIDEOBOYZ, a fictional art unit created by VAINL ARCHIVE designer Kohei Okita, opened on February 19th at the gallery space SUNDAY ISSUE in Shibuya, Tokyo. In addition to producing a tabloid publication in conjunction with the exhibition under the name VIDEOBOYZ, the group will also be selling a limited number of T-shirts featuring artwork by participating artists. Eight artists are participating, including young photographers Jiro Konami and Ai Ezaki, artist label owner SUZUKI SEAN SHOUSKE, graphic artist Hiroshi Nishihiro, and illustrator Noritake. VIDEOBOYZ was born when multiple artists gradually added to a collage book compiled by Okita, which compiled vague images from his mind. While separating himself from the world of the clothes in the vinyl archive, Okita continues to select artists and present his work in a variety of formats as an artistic expression that contains an inextricable relationship between the two.
