Acne Studios and Vivienne Sassen release collaborative works that combine art and fashion

Feb 10, 2014

Photographer Viviane Sassen and Acne Studios have collaborated to create a series of images. The series will be on display at a limited-time shop at Isetan Shinjuku, opening on February 19th. The works use a strong contrast between white and primary colors to express the intersection of art and fashion. "What's important is that my work confuses and perplexes me, and that it has a lasting impact on me," Sassen said. "We live in an environment where various images are constantly flying around, so I want to do more to challenge our vision and our minds." The series will be exhibited in three locations: Center Park/The Stage #3 on the 3rd floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, Global Closet/Jeans on the 2nd floor, and the women's shoes section on the 2nd floor, along with a shirt dress, knitwear, and the new women's 14SS collection, exclusive to the store. Sassen won the Prix de Rome in 2007 and the ICP Infinity Award in Fashion Photography in 2011. In late 2012, he held his first retrospective in Amsterdam, and exhibited in the Central Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2013. In the fashion field, he has also worked on visuals for numerous brands, including Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, and Max Mara.
