
Singer and model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was born on December 23, 1967, in Turin, Italy. Her older sister is actress Valeria Bruni Tedeschi. She moved to France in 1975 and began her career as a model after graduating. She walked in the Valentino show in 1989 and continued to appear on the runway for Dior, Chanel, Chloé, Saint Laurent, and Jean Paul Gaultier throughout the early 2000s. Since then, she has continued to appear as a top model in fashion magazines and advertising campaigns. She most notably appeared in a Terry Richardson-shot advertisement for Bvlgari's Diva collection in 2013.
In addition, when she released her first album, "Quelqu'un m'a dit," in 2002, it sold over one million copies worldwide. She then began working as a singer, and released her second album, "No Promises," in 2007.
In her private life, she married President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008 and had a child in 2011.
