Converse has appointed N.HOOLYWOOD designer Daisuke Obana as creative director. In conjunction with this, the brand will launch its top apparel line, "CONS RENNOVATOR," starting with the 2015 Spring/Summer collection. Cons Renovator targets fashion-conscious Converse customers in their 20s and 30s. The first 2015 Spring/Summer collection features approximately 20 styles, including outerwear, cut-and-sew tops, and bottoms. The line is planned for sale at select shops and specialty stores with a sophisticated selection of items. Regarding the origin of the name, Obana explained, "The name 'RENNOVATOR' comes from the combination of 'INNOVATOR' and 'RENOVATION,' which reflects our belief that we ourselves are innovators, and that this is clothing we present to innovators, as well as our aim as a brand focused on designs that cross over between the old and the new."
Furthermore, regarding the launch of the line, he said, "We have been collaborating with Converse on shoes for many years at N.Hollywood, and have built a strong relationship of trust over that time, which has led to us launching the line in this way. For our first collection, we were inspired by the imagery and designs from the era when Converse was most focused on activewear, and have translated them into modern Converse wear."
Since the release of their collaborative shoes in March 2005, the two companies have collaborated twice on the high-end line, Converse Addict.
