On February 14th (early morning of the 15th Japan time), Coach held a runway show in New York for its Fall 2022 collection, designed by Stuart Vevers, themed around "Somewhere in America," an imaginary suburban town where Coach is located. The show, which was also broadcast live on Coach's official Instagram and YouTube channels, evoked a nostalgia for home and the shared experiences and American stories that connect us. The Fall collection unfolded a new chapter in Vevers' vision of American heritage, energized with next-generation optimism and attitude. Signature Coach pieces, like shearling and leather outerwear, contrasted with romantic lace and crochet dresses, pops of neon, and leatherwear inspired by '70s leather bar chairs, showcasing the brand's continuing vital role in shaping the legacy of American style. Vevers also paid homage to Coach's first head designer, Bonnie Cashin, by modernizing archival outerwear with shearling and updating the brand's 1964 "sling" bag. The show also featured a collaboration with graffiti artists Mint & Serf, showcasing pieces printed with their raw, expressive artwork.

The runway show, held on Valentine's Day in Basketball City on New York's Lower East Side, was set in a suburban American town, rendered in a color palette that evoked Coach's heritage, while a soundtrack remixed '70s romance and '90s grunge. Designed to evoke memories of classic American streets and depict the everyday lives of its inhabitants, the show told a story that captures our collective imagination, while also offering a nostalgic invitation for future generations to rewrite that story for today.

"I'm a Coach fan," Vevers said.
"My collections often begin with a feeling, and for Fall, that feeling was love. To express this, the collection explored the tension between romance and toughness, revisiting Coach's heritage. I loved the idea of creating a nostalgic world somewhere in America, seen through a widescreen lens, that blends the energy of our time with a nostalgia for the pop culture references that continue to inspire me."
