Isetan Mitsukoshi's new artsy store to open in Roppongi Midtown next spring

Dec 2, 2014

Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings will open a new store, "Isetan Salone," at Tokyo Midtown on April 3, 2015, which will function as a salon at the Isetan Shinjuku store.

Based on the store concept of "combining merchandising and art," the store aims to provide customers with a "superb shopping experience" through a comfortable, high-quality time, a special space, and service.

The store will be located in the space currently occupied by "Mercedes me." It will cover approximately 900 square meters and span two floors. The interior design, based on the "MY COMFORTABLE SALON" concept, was created by photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto and architect Tomoyuki Sakakida. Taking into account the Roppongi location, which is home to art museums and other cultural facilities, the store will feature an abundant natural light environment, special fixtures with a dynamic artistic feel, and Japanese materials.

The first floor will feature a promotional space, jewelry, watches, and handbags. The second floor will offer women's clothing, shoes, cosmetics and fragrances, sunglasses, scarves, hats, and more. In the promotional space, Isetan will present original and select items under a variety of themes based on trends and seasons.
The store's opening theme, "BLACK & WHITE," will express a black and white worldview through clothing and accessories. In addition to limited-edition items, the store will offer a selection of domestic and international brands and its own private brand products. Taking into account the location and store concept, the product lineup will cater to the needs of discerning fashion customers.
The company has positioned the Minato Ward where the store is located and the surrounding area as strategic markets, and intends to use the area as a base for expanding customer contact points.
In addition, as part of its small- to medium-sized store strategy, the company is planning to open a select store in the Dai Nagoya Building, currently under construction near Nagoya Station.
